The Sins of Speech

Like biblical tzara`at, abusing the faculty of speech desecrates and pollutes our homes, the substance of our lives, and ultimately ourselves. Therefore, when we stumble and fall prey to it, we ought to pause and say to ourselves, like the leper of ancient times: “He shall cover his upper lip; and he shall call out, ‘Unclean!
