Ethics of Leadership | Parshat Korach
Much has been said and will yet be said about the famous dispute in this week’s Torah reading which was not for the sake of Heaven (Avot 5.17), a dispute which may have been prompted ideologically, or politically, or perhaps was simply a provocation against the existing leadership of Moses and Aaron. Here we will focus on Moses’ declaration to Heaven, “I have not taken the donkey of any one of them, nor have I wronged any one of them” (Num. 16:15).
