Sanctity Of Time and Space

Perhaps we can say that in Leviticus the Torah combines both commandments in a single verse – “You shall keep My sabbaths [plural] and venerate My sanctuary [singular]” (Lev. 19:30) – in order present them as equally important, teaching that a Jew must experience both sanctity of place and of time.
